Sound Designer
Full Member
I'm an audio director, composer, sound designer and voice director working in games, generative sound design, video production and radio. I bring a strong creative leadership and distinctive style to my projects, communicating across the entire team in order to inculcate the importance of high quality audio.
"There are so many moments of sound design that were genuinely excellent"
"Every aspect of the audio is stunning."
"The pace and emotional input are balanced to perfection. If you want an example of simple, yet brilliant audio, then look no further."
Recent games include the PSVR2 game Synapse (nDreams), The Last Campfire (Hello Games) and on-going work for Sports Interactive's titles.
I'm the audio director for Hello Games' innovative procedural space game, No Man's Sky and the recently announced Light No Fire, where I'm responsible for all of the sound design, additional music, audio tools development and overall creative audio direction across multiple platforms.
For many of my projects I've designed brand new audio tools, such as a physically modelled vocal tract plugin for Wwise and a standalone cutting-edge generative music application for industrial applications. I'm constantly seeking to push the boundaries of game audio technology.
I've worked on over sixty games of all shapes and sizes across mobile, console, PC and custom platforms. Clients include Microsoft, Sports Interactive, Eidos, Sony, TT Games and many others.
Outside of games I sound design and mix corporate videos for large brands such as the Project Management Institute, Education First, Microsoft and the VR surgery training company, FundamentalVR. I also co-run the radio production company Perfectly Normal Productions, which has commissions from the BBC and Audible.
I'm a leading commercial generative composer and have created soundscapes for retail spaces across the world, including shopping centres, banks, hotels and airports. The work for Harrod's toy department won the Audio Branding Academy 2012 gold award.
I'm very experienced in using Wwise along with FMOD and Unity.
I lecture in game audio and have run several university courses and regularly speak at conferences such as GDC, Develop & Gamescom. I also run a yearly intensive module in game audio at Aalto University.
