AMPS ANNOUNCE 2024 NOMINATIONS FOR EXCELLENCE IN SOUND FOR A TELEVISION DRAMA, FACTUAL FILM & AUDIO PRODUCTS

Production Hardware or Software Audio Product
Post-Production Hardware or Software Audio Product
The Association of Motion Picture Sound (AMPS), the UK-based craft guild made up of over 540 of the most imaginative and highly experienced creative talents working in the field of sound for film, television, and games, has announced the nominations for this year’s Excellence in Sound for a Television Drama, Factual Film and Audio Products.
SUCCESSION, THE LAST OF US, THE BEAR and THE CROWN are all in contention in the Excellence in Sound for a Television Drama category.
In the category for Excellence in Sound for a Factual Film, THE DEEPEST BREATH, IF THESE WALLS COULD SING, INSIDE OUR AUTISTIC MINDS, LIFE ON OUR PLANET and SECRETS OF THE ELEPHANTS are recognised.
HBO/ Sky, Netflix and Disney+ lead with three nominations each, with BBC Two recognised in one category.
The two categories representing PRODUCT EXCELLENCE feature a wide range of nominations covering most aspects of the modern film sound workflow, indicating the ever-growing complexity of the technology supporting the creative processes.

Now in its 11th year, the AMPS Awards are presented annually for excellence in sound. The winners will be announced at an informal event taking place at The University of Greenwich on Sunday 7th April.
The first award of 2024, for EXCELLENCE IN SOUND FOR A FEATURE FILM, was awarded to THE ZONE OF INTEREST Sound team in February, preceding their BAFTA win.
